Established as a nonprofit in 1991, Tri-Valley REACH was founded by a group of dedicated family members of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who shared a common goal: ensuring their loved ones could continue living in the community they called home. Their vision was to create safe, high-quality housing opportunities where residents could build independent living skills, grow in confidence, and foster relationships. 

Living locally is especially important for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Remaining close to family, friends, trusted caregivers, and familiar surroundings provides stability, strengthens support networks, and promotes greater independence, inclusion, and overall quality of life.

Today, Tri-Valley REACH continues to honor this vision by providing very affordable housing, maintaining several homes throughout the Tri-Valley region, and offering enrichment opportunities that empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently.
