The Winter holiday season can be a time of joy, excitement and wonder. Regardless of what you celebrate, it often means a festive atmosphere along with increased exposure to large gatherings, additional visual stimuli, and increased social expectations. While some of us may thrive on some or all of these elements, others, especially our Neurodivergent family members, friends, and peers, may find this overwhelming, unsettling, painful, or simply unpleasant.
Tri-Valley REACH Celebrates Grand Opening of Hansen Hive, Their First Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in Pleasanton
On November 6, 2024, Tri-Valley REACH celebrated the grand opening of its inaugural Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in Pleasanton, California, with a Heartwarming Open House and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. This newly established residence, named the ‘Hansen Hive’, reflects a sense of community, energy, and warmth, offering a welcoming addition to REACH’s properties across the Tri-Valley.
Rotary Club of Livermore Valley Awards REACH $1,000 Grant
In June, the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley awarded a $1,000 grant to Tri-Valley REACH towards bridging construction costs on the Hansen Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) project.
TVNPA Awards REACH $1,000 Grant
In July, Tri-Valley REACH was awarded a $1,000 grant to support its ongoing outreach efforts for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This grant will fund key activities through the T-RADD athletic program.
Building Community Through Conversation
If you are reading this blog, you have likely heard of the labels “high functioning” and “low functioning” to describe the abilities of Neurodivergent individuals (including intellectual or developmental delay, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, etc.). You have also likely noticed that the spectrum of these abilities falls across a wide range within each individual disability and person, making them “generic” and non-specific.
Tri-Valley REACH Celebrates Successful Evening at the Oasis event, Paving the Way for 2025
Tri-Valley REACH is proud to announce the success of its REACH for Your Dreams – Evening at the Oasis event on September 12, 2024 at McGrail Vineyards. With tremendous community support, this evening celebrated the shared goal of making the dream of independence for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) come true by raising essential funds for REACH’s mission. Heartfelt generosity resonated throughout the room, and REACH is looking forward to continuing that moment into 2025.
