Tri-Valley REACH is excited to announce our selection as a recipient of the Pleasanton Weekly’s 2023 Holiday Fund! This annual initiative supports organizations offering essential safety-net services throughout the Tri-Valley region. We are honored to have been chosen for ten consecutive years and take great pride in our commitment to serving the Tri-Valley community, particularly in addressing the critical need for extremely affordable and safe housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Kay King, Tri-Valley REACH Board Chair, underscored the pivotal role the organization holds within the Tri-Valley I/DD community by providing these individuals with the key to independence – extremely affordable housing. She emphasized the pressing need for safe and affordable housing, especially given that most individuals with I/DD fall within the extremely low-income bracket. REACH believes that fostering inclusivity, both within and outside the home, is essential for promoting independence. Currently, REACH provides support to 42 residents in 12 homes across Pleasanton and Livermore, with our residents serving as the true heart behind our mission.
We extend our gratitude to the Pleasanton Weekly and the generous donors who contributed to this year’s Holiday Fund. The donations raised will be instrumental in providing not only housing but also independence to our local community members with I/DD. These heartfelt gifts will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the lives of our REACH residents.
